Thanks Cherry, I really hadn't thought of it that way but the way you put it sounds great! I've tried to up the detail more with photo textures, for some reason, the water seems to take up a lot of the image to me, I think I need to work on another image soon :S

Thanks Hobbyhorse, I tried to lighten the shadows and have them recede into the background further, hope it's looking good now.

I really like the lighting!

The only thing that's bothering me at the moment is the way the water looks concave. I think the edges are too dark maybe? Given that there is actually quite a lot of light on the path and also the deeper into the picture plain, I think the reflection of the canopy alone wouldn't make the water appear so dark.

You have done a great job on the reflection btw Mic. I think it looks super!!

Keep this up!

Everything's on the right!!!

Looking great Micro! I would add some more distant overlapping trees in the background since it's a bit blown out in lightness. Keep up the good work!

Thanks guys :woohoo: I worked on the background and improved the lighting, I think the shadows on the water look better now.
There's still a lot of roughness to clean up around trees and temple, but I think it's looking more solid now.

Trying hard to get everything to look the same detail wise, I added more textures to the trees, and tried to add more lighting to the water, but still have to detail the leaves and smooth some edges. Think this is almost done, just have to finish the characters and temple.

The pic looks awesome! it has a nice swampy lush feel to it. I think the curved dark edge along the water could be softened (with fill light) a bit since its very dark against the lighter water. Keep going it's looking great!

I agree. I think the shadow is far too saturated at the moment. Plus the tree are not being reflected yet, so that will need adding.

The colour choices are all great though and the textures you have used are all looking good. Keep it coming!

I forgot all about that pic

I can see all kinds of things wrong with it now :X Maybe i'll do a rebooted version.

Going back to the beginning sketching, I think I have a technique down to first draw a 3d box as the body to get the angle and pose then just adding from there.
