And Val are the ice spikes the sort of ice blast thing they keep doing? Both dragons and mages. Or is that something else? They seem to be attacking me that way all the time - though early on a few attacked with fire blasts instead.
Did I mention that I found some nice lookout point with some old stones on it and wouldn't you know it, but just as I arrived some silly wannabe necromancer was trying to reanimate a couple of skellingtons so I had to put him down. He used the ice blast thingy too.
Not that it did him much good.

I think the troll and dragon were a bit too far apart, but maybe if I had run back towards the dragon instead of foolishly gone straight in for the kill (my being killed, that is), it could have distracted the dragon.... Maybe. I have a feeling that pesky dragon is keeping tabs on me - I think it's the same one as near the old mining camp

Dragons have frost breath and the mage thing you describe sounds like the Frostbite spell. Ice Spike is more like a projectile where they hurl bluish icicles at you. They hit you to drain health and stamina but the icicle sticks into your body for a while slowing you down too. You can often end up in fights where you're just getting repeatedly impaled and you can't even move quick enough to get close enough to attack.

I think maybe Sigdis will have to wait a bit
I really suck at using the shortcuts and spells and everything. Maybe I should ask some people to teach me...

Indeed - not from inside places and not when over encumbered...
I'm starting a new game and thinking I can take the time to practice and learn stuff so I can get that other character out of the cave eventually.
