CGMythology's Sketchbook (nudity)

crankshaft: Thanks; As for using a ruler, I'd rather not at this point as doing them freehand allows me to gain a broader sense of perspective more naturally... using a ruler is too mechanical and hinders that, although I'll definitely be using it for the more serious studies.

................

Started on a piece for a friend, below is the current progress (sketch and quick colors); I'm using less saturated tones than normal, we'll see how that goes as the image progresses...

Nice start to the portrait work looking forward to update.
Also good to see you doing all the practicing with perspective.
So with all this practice maybe time to try a challenge with it and do the February Steam-punk with a building or craft in perspective  ...

Nice start on the new one, George. I like how they are quite similar in appearance, enough to believe they could even be sisters, but not twins. :) - Though since both are pretty much looking straight on at the viewer, if you could see one nostril, I would think you would see both. Albeit, one may show less, but would show nonetheless.

I get sketchy around pencils! ...=D

Kodabble: Thanks! I wish I knew about the Steam Punk challenge earlier, I would love to do an image in that style! It's a bit too late now to contribute, but hopefully I'll have time to contribute to the next challenge!

Domtopia: Thank you!

Digital Dave: Thanks, and they are indeed similar in appearance so I'll do my best to make them each unique. Great point about the nostril, good eye! Will fix it by the next update.

I quite like the solid, almost clay-like texture he gives everything. I don't know how that's done!

Everything's on the right!!!

Domtopia: Thank you! As for the feel of my paintings I put a lot of emphasis on form and depth to create that look, want everything to look as 3D as possible in regards to my shading.

The finished image! Pretty pleased with it, especially in terms of colors as they're not over-saturated which was becoming a bit of an issue with some of my work.
