Had to go and fight some spiders today and... it took much longer than I expected. 
Am I getting more and more ... rubbish?!
Well, yes and no. But it's not my fault.
It was only while trawling through my inventory that I realised why. You see, I haven't really been fighting very much recently with all the Holiday Event quests which all revolve around crafting and throwing mud balls and naked diving and juggling, a bit like this...
...and while doing all this for the past two weeks I've still been levelling up but haven't been looting corpses for gear so I'm now levelled way higher than my weapons which makes them not very good at all. Two of my daggers are now dealing only 900 damage points.
So I crafted and improved a better one for myself and I might go killing and looting soon to get some more efficient stabby stuff.
I may also need to remake a lot of my clothes cos their values are even worse. Thankfully I don't use them all for armour so that's not as big an issue but it might be worthwhile taking the time to do all that when this event is over.

900 damage points would kill like 5 bandits at once in Skyrim. 
...and you do realise that when "this event is over" they'll start another? It's how they keep people coming back...

wait... you are saying they deliberately do all this stuff to con people into playing a game continuously so they can make large sums of money?
...and you do realise that when "this event is over" they'll start another? It's how they keep people coming back...

I have paid nothing and I'm having fun. 
They were all over 1100 last week!
Because of the way the game scales everything to make it fair to all players you really do have to pay attention to the difference in level between you and the gear. Well, more attention than me.
Apparently the problem goes away when you hit Level 50 & CP160.
Which is a long way off when you play at the pace I do.
900 damage points would kill like 5 bandits at once in Skyrim.
