I'm sure you can change what the pressure controls.
I just wondered if it was controlling size or opacity. I tend to go for the latter because I find it really difficult to make smooth tapering lines. I guess that's why I dive straight in with the 1 pixel brush! Perhaps that's why your hair looks soft and mine don't.
Great work by the way.

I have "size" selected on the pen pressure box, like in the link. Thanks for that btw!!

When I was painting the white as snow painting I needed the paint to be hard lined, so I turned the opacity setting off. I am not sure what the effect of having the setting turned on would be on the hair. Try it and see what happens!

And, thanks for the kind words!!

Looking quite nice, Dom. The white hair really stands out with her skin tone. :)

I get sketchy around pencils! ...=D

That hair looks awesome! It has a nice wispy natural feel to it.

I think I will call this done now. I forgot that her eye is actually pupil-less, so that's been rectified. Plus I altered her far eye a little to help correct the form problems. Hopefully it all works now.

I was fishing through my IFX mags and found the very first one I bought. In it there was a workshop wherein the artist revisited an old sketch that she wanted to give another crack of the whip.

I found an old sketch too and I would like to give it another go! Here's the original sketch and the work I have been doing on it to try and improve on it. I know that there are quite a few issues with it, but I plan on overcoming them as the painting develops.

Comments would always be welcome!

Always fun to see or do an old painting makeover. My two first thoughts on this one (besides ooooh it's steampunk) is that it's hard to tell where one of her legs is - I finally figured it's bent, but since we see basically nothing of the thigh it's hard to make out (more so because some of her outfit is "strange" and therefore we don't know what to expect) - and that I would never ever advice anyone to lean their chin on their weapon like that.... Does she have a death wish? Other than that, it's looking cool and promising!
