Oh btw, do you know what's up with all the dead people lying around in Vivec city? Often the living versions are sat or standing right next to their own dead bodies. It feels kind of weird. I guess players kill them? For some reason :dumb:

Players do indeed kill them. In fact some of the recent daily endeavours have involved killing a certain number of NPC civilians (I don't do those ones. :nope:) and also if you do pickpocketing it's supposedly "better" if you then kill them as it respawns their inventory. Or something. :dumb:
I've read things where people mentioned something like that but didn't understand. :)

And the NPCs do respawn pretty quickly before their dead bodies disappear.
But I'm glad they do cos it'd be pretty annoying if you needed to talk to someone for a quest only to find that another player had killed them.

Money starts getting easier to acquire when you get the crafting writs, which is at around level six. My elf character currently gets nearly 400 gold for each of the six daily jobs and the other lower level guy gets 300 per job although he's only certified for the three equipment writs as I don't have enough resources in the bank to do the other three. So that adds up to over three grand a day and if you have even more characters you can earn quite a bit if you take the time from killing people.

I suspect all that trouble I went through yesterday to sort all the mods properly was a waste of time, as I once again couldn't start the game, today. And once again I found that all my old, now incompatible saves had been restored. So, once again, I have deleted them, now both from wrye bash and the save games folder on C and closed and reopened the game as I read something about doing that after deleting the saves, yesterday. Apparently the ever returning dead saves is a GOG issue.

Speaking of GOG, today I found that one of the games I bought on there - the one that first made me annoyed with Steam for being the only place where one could mod the game I just bought elsewhere - has now been discontinued on GOG and can only be got on Steam. And apparently the makers of the game did offer steam keys for people who bought it on GOG but I didn't see anything about how or where or when those keys were offered.

Well, I don't play it very often at the moment anyway, so. Maybe it doesn't matter. But it kind of still sucks.

A co worker mentioned how his old gaming computer used to be called the Dragon by his friends because it was so noisy - and he allowed me to name my computer that. After playing ESO for a wee bit today I think it might be apt. I'd no idea it could reach such noise levels.

If I hadn't already spent over a week trying to get stuff working on this new thing I'd be awfully tempted to send it back. I just don't want to have to start over with everything again... :dumb:

I now have the orange cat. :cheer:
But that quest I was using to level up did cost me another two deaths and therefore soul gems too. Admittedly one of them was my own fault.
I saw a sky shard up at the top of a cliff and found a way of zigzagging my way up some of the ledges then I just needed to jump up and over to get onto the top level and...
It wasn't a cliff, it was a sharp mountain ridge and I just plummeted over the other side to my doom. :dead:
If only I'd had that 3D-ish map from Skyrim that I sometimes complain about.

And then I had an encounter with a Mage woman who had at least three health bars that left my siphoning skills somewhat lacking. I really should make sure my Quickslot key is set to potions instead of summoning/dismissing useless pets. :hmm:

So I had to re-delete all those files I've deleted for three days in a row already, again. And then I played a while. And then the game crashed. Might be the civil war refugees mod, though most complaints I've seen about it is that the refugees all go to the inn and kind of clog it. But I saw this guy just walking in place for a bit and then he... became two. They didn't look the same but had identical outfits. Then he started walking in place again and while I stared fervently to see if he'd clone another refugee again, the game just crashed. So now I'll never now. :(

And the tomatoes still look awful. I don't know what else I can do but install the version I want after the smim version, as it's only textures and meshes and doesn't appear in the load order.
