Oh just fucking great.
It would seem my ESO save game was also in that cloud. I don't get why things would be saved there and ONLY there??? But I just had to jump through all the hoops of the agreements and choosing a server and shit once again. Isn't the whole point of cloud saves to keep things safe IF you lose them from your actual computer? Not to keep them from you??? *grumbles*

Edit: and right after that bit of whining, and once again skipping upgrading to Necrom, there she was. My level 3 character. Why do they scare me like this? Stoopid games. 

I'm sure all these New Computer Problems will settle down soon.

The endeavours weren't very good today. Could only do the selling one but never mind, with today's login reward (or was it yesterday's? ) I now have 1500 of the seals. And I still haven't bought that snow piggy or the wolf lizard. It may be better off saving them for later things. Maybe.

Anyway after the short stop in ESO I switched to do a longer quest in AC Syndicate and.... Oh, stop complaining at me, Henry. You were the one that was repeatedly and uselessly dying even though you're supposed to be an Assassin too.

 

I did really well by myself and cleared out every single baddie in the final area so that our escape could go smoothly but he got spooked by a sniper on a roof and insisted on lingering in another area with baddies and... "Your Ally Is Dead."
I was then booted back to the last mid-quest checkpoint and that respawned all the baddies I'd previously killed making our "escape" much more difficult.
Many more Henry deaths occurred until I finally managed to keep him alive long enough for him to moan about it.

I guess he had a death wish...

And I sure hope I will feel content with this thing eventually. So far I mostly regret buying something so expensive. Well, actually the money isn't the issue. I just can't remember ever buying a computer before, that felt WORSE than the previous one. It's noisier, warmer and even seems to freeze up on simple tasks like opening the file explorer. Yesterday evening it stopped showing me the file explorer window unless I minimised all other windows. It's just not the kind of troubles you should have with something brand new.

And also my keyboard was once again set to English Who did that?

The thing with explorer (and sometimes the rest of the desktop) freezing has happened to me a handful of occasions when deleting or moving files, I believe it's a windows 11 problem not specific to your laptop. So you would likely experience the same problem on another new computer running win 11. I don't know what the cause is but hopefully it will be fixed.

All the PCs I've had have been second-hand or refurbished and they come with different problems. I've had two CPUs overheat and melt within a week of use and one had a power supply blow up with fire and smoke the first time I switched it on.

And as for noise, I thought my current PC was mostly silent but now that I'm not deaf I can hear a fan gently spinning in there.

The heat and noise issue is caused by something called "The laws of Physics". Apparently you can't change those and have to put up with it or buy a desktop computer with proper cooling.

I've bad experiences with desktop computers. Or computer. I'm still angry at it.

And even if it's noisy, I'd have expected it to be LESS noisy than my older laptop...

But it's producing significantly more power and heat than your previous laptop in a similarly sized form factor. You can possibly reduce the amount of noise a bit by changing the power settings in windows, or you may have something already installed that lowers the overall system performance.

I encountered a random thief who I thought was going to try and rob me while I was wandering around. Instead of attacking me they said hi and handed me my cut of their thievery earnings. 

I used to see all these thieves get hunted and killed in towns... Then I'd loot their corpses.

I'm not playing much, yet, though. I seem to have sorted most issues I had yesterday, but I still haven't installed all my mods and I still have a few small issues to iron out before I do. I think. Maybe.
