I finally got my selection of mods all selected (took like 4 hours) and switched to the new computer to start installing. And to install the mods, I first need to install the mod organiser of choice.
*reads notes*
"Install in the same directory but NOT the same folder as the game"
*starts installing*
*isn't given a choice of where to install*
*does a search to find it*
*finds it in the games folder*

I went ahead and crafted the second light for my room and hung it in the opposite corner at the foot of the bed and now it looks lovely and cosy. And I no longer have to tweak the brightness to see what's going on in there.
I will have to sort out my storage chest now. It's almost full and most of it seems to be survey maps of places I haven't been to and probably won't be going to any time soon. I'm sure I have more useful stuff to keep in there. Also I'm getting close to my bank limit again so it seems like I'll soon be spending a whopping 20 grand on ten more slots.

That's nonsense, it's like saying "put it in the same house, but NOT within the same building""Install in the same directory but NOT the same folder as the game"

I uninstalled Wrye Bash and went to download the zipped file instead of the exe, so I could decide where it ended up. It's on Nexus Mods so I tried to log in from my new computer but couldn't remember the password and not find it among my other notes on such things. So I requested to reset the password, which sent a link on my email which I still check on my old computer, but anyways, I reset the password and made a note of it. Tries to login, nope, error. Tried to close nexus mods on this computer in case it didn't like me being logged in from two computers at once, still an error. Tried a few more times both using my username and my email and the new password but nope. Then tried to use reset password again, nope can't do that either because I tried too many times.
So I give up, go back to the old computer, open nexus mods back up, find wrye bash, download the zipped version and then move the external drive back to the new computer again (for the umpteeth time today - plus I keep having to do the same with the mouse) and the new computer only gives the option to compress the file? It's already compressed!
WHY ISN'T ANYTHING WORKING!?
* Well, I did fix one thing. Hopefully. I kept getting the Xbox app thingy on my activity bar even though I also kept removing it. But I found a solution that seems to have done the trick. So that's.... one good thing today? Yay.

Well, at least I have now logged in here on the new computer so I don't have to switch back and forth every time I need to whine.
Edit: seriously, it used to be "Right-click - choose unpack" and now it's "Right-click - view more options - 7-zip - choose unpack"
I wonder who the hell was the brainiac behind that? I want to shoot an arrow in their knee.
