You find out about this when a quest ends and you're suddenly over-encumbered with decapitated heads even though you haven't picked anything up.

Edit2: And on the occasions when I've had to trawl through the inventory to find WHY I'm over-encumbered it's often because of potions that I have no intention of using. You think of them as being light in a negligible way but when you have hundreds of them...

And what about when the quest hasn't even been activated yet but you are stuck carrying it around until you find the quest it's associated with?

If you can't drop it then it's tagged as a quest item and if it's tagged as a quest item then it should be weightless.

Where did that dead dragon go!? I hadn't looted it yet! And I didn't enter any buildings etc so that things reloaded, I just followed those bloody stairs that kept going and going... And I still ended up in the wrong place from where I was going. Which I suppose means it was the wrong dragon, too...

And regarding quest items, sometimes you can't drop them even when the quest is over

Apparently walking around with no clothes on is frowned upon and people keep telling me to get dressed   So I have had an inventory clear out and reorganisation including some smythery upgrading. I am now fully kitted out in Ebony (apart from my feetsies because I don't have any Ebony feet  ... oh, and my noggin, because I have a mask thingy that does... stuff  ). If things seems worse I will go back to my previous set up, but I'm mostly just missing a couple of buffs and I don't know how much of a difference they made.

And the only chicken death I have witnessed so far was by Dragon.

 

Wish a Dragon had murdered the stupid Ewoks, then I wouldn't have wasted my time doing their fetch quests for nothing in return. Maybe it was payback for all the ones I slaughtered before I got there 

EDIT - And I think the game minimising may be related to the Windows Notification thing as it looks like it occurs when I get emails 

I found an ebony helmet for Lydia today but I need to superiorise it before she'll use it. And... ewoks? Would those happened to be furless ewoks?
