I was just recalling my own surprise when I couldn't even use a carriage.

I haven't been to Solstheim so I don't know where anything is. Apparently there's a quest that needs to be done before you can open  the place  but that page does say that it doesn't respawn.

 

Ooooh THAT lodge. Now I remember it. I never got into it myself but there was a few containers with stuff, food mostly, around it.

I will probably end up doing the tedious fast travel inventory shuffle that I had to do a couple of times already. I've already been in the abandoned building there because I picked the lock on the door but I had temporarily stashed stuff in a nearby urn when I ran off to "quickly" do a simple mission. It's annoying that even though my armour supposedly weighs nothing now and I'm pretty much only carrying essential stuff, I still only get about 15 points of weight to play around with before I'm over weight again 

I want my dog back 

Did your dog add to carry weight?

Maybe you should reconsider what is "essential"

Even with too many potions on hand, if I empty out most inventory I have about 100 points of weight to fill up. Plus a follower...

Also, I'm pretty sure one couldn't just pick that lock but it required a key? So... maybe you did the required quest already.

Maybe it's a different building, I didn't click the link. 

Essential would be armour to stop me taking damage that would kill me, weapons to hit things with so I don't get killed, and the ability to heal myself so I don't die from the damage I do take. I do offload stuff onto Mjoll, but she eventually can't take any more until I unload her. I think she may have eaten the dog while I wasn't looking.

I still haven't encountered them again and I haven't found any other item that increases carry weight either, not even a little bit. (And for disenchanting a little bit would be better as it wouldn't seem like a waste...)

I should invade your games and set up a little shop of carry weight trinkets and make a splendid fortune.

You wouldn't make much from me, my talky skills are amazing, plus I'm wearing the horny helmet and have trinkets and potions to get lower prices. By the end of it you'd owe me loads of money.

EDIT - And a contributing factor in the weight issue is down to the number of quest related items I have stuck in my inventory that I can't get rid of Especially when you accidentally pick up multiples of the same one due to the crappy interface. 

But Val says quest items don't contribute to weight....
