I can barely get a few pixels off its FIRST health bar before I'm dead.
Let's go shopping instead!

 

Hmm, should I buy the smart suit from Ponsonbys?
I CAN afford it.
Naaah! Let's get some cheap stuff from Bincos.

 

My shambolic efforts against the Royal Wyvern continue to be frustrating.
It takes maybe ten or fifteen seconds to load in the savegame.
Another five seconds to arrange my potions in the right order and select the correct sign.
Another two seconds to select my sparse but most damaging bolts. Oh and select the crossbow so I don't pull out the magic lamp in the middle of the fight. (Done ​THAT too many times already! )
Take a moment to destroy the last nest.
Wait.
Skip the cutscene.
Skip the cutscene.
Wait for the Wyvern to land.
Strike a few blows. Bit of Igni. Maybe Aard.
Then it hits me just twice and I'm dead as Geralt flops forward like a footballer trying to get a penalty.

So once more I have to load the savegame in and add up all those preparatory waiting seconds only to die after two seconds of actual fighting.

The only time I survived for a while was when it got stuck in the cave.
I did manage to get through all of its first health bar during that attempt but it's very surprising how so many of my attacks with sword, signs and crossbow do literally no damage at all to that very long health bar.

That earlier save before this quest is getting ever more appealing.

Ah, yes. Quen.


I must confess, I'm not good with Quen (which is why I rarely use it.) It doesn't seem to last very long and in the midst of battle I can never tell (or remember) if I'm still "Quenned" of "unQuenned". I only know for certain when I'm dead.

Managed to get it way down to it's second health bar with the help of it getting stuck in a tree. But then I died.
Then died a bit more.
Then had one fight where I did really well, got its health down to about half and then suddenly all my attacks were doing no damage at all. 
I looked down at the bottom corner to see that Geralt had for some reason switched to his Steel Sword in the middle of battle.
Switch back to the Silver. Switch back to the Silv- And he's dead again.

But then...
I got it down to its last health bar and panicked and ran away. Keep quenning. Keep gulping that water. Fire the crossbow from a safe distance. Dodge the acid stuff. Fire crossbow again. Etc.
And it's down to a couple of pixels now. Chaaaarge!

   

Yeah, tell me about it, Geralt.
I would have liked a screenshot of the dead beast but its falling body glitched halfway into the cave again.
But I DID kill it and then hammered that F5 key to quicksave.
