Also, with hindsight and a touch of humility, I may possibly acknowledge that, on this occasion, the sword switching gaffe might (MIGHT!) have been my own fault.

At some point I do recall reaching for a potion and both actions are indeed mapped to the D-Pad. sooooo.......

I have now finished Hellblade.

Managed to get past the fighty bridge on my first try last night and ended up stopping up late right through to the end and it was awesome. The game was good all the way through but when you get to The Sea Of Corpses and beyond it really moves on to another level of loveliness.

The final battle was a little unexpected (I was almost certain that I knew what it would be and was wrong ) and without giving away any spoilers...



The final cut scene was absolutely brilliant and overall I  have only two minor gripes: The song over the end credits was awful and so different in style from the rest of the soundtrack (I would have prefered just silence.) and secondly, it's rather irritating that I can't go back and replay specific chapters. I did miss out on a couple of runestones and with no manual save or chapter replay I'll have to go through the entire game if I want to find them.
