My friend actually already had it since it was given away for free at some point (was that when I got it too, maybe?) but hasn't been able to play. But she recently got a new computer so now she's installing all the games I've talked about for like the past 10 years or whatsit... At least the ones she can get for free.

Meanwhile my computer is still acting up and I asked my brother for help but apparently he was distracted by a squirrel

I don't blame him, I'm always easily distracted by squirrels.

I think I can run Subnautica on my PC but I don't fancy a 20GB install for just a couple of days play. I may see if I can run the freebie on GFN later when I'm finished doing some "stuff".

So where was that cave again? Are all these acid mushrooms gonna be useful sometime? I seem to have too many of them already and not enough of ... anything else.

The mushrooms are useful, but you don't need to pick them until you need them And keep an eye out for corals with bubbles coming out. You can breath those bubbles... Helps you stay down a bit longer. But upgrading your equipment is necessary to get anywhere, yes
