I tried another free demo seeing as I don't want to waste time on long installations on this computer. It was called Motel something and the image in the Steam shop made it look like it might have tied to Bates motel, but no. It was a time management thing basically. Renovate rooms, buy food, cook food, deliver food, fetch laundry, wash laundry, deliver laundry, reject customers because you don't have enough rooms, try to renovate more rooms, while cooking, cleaning and doing laundry... Basically a bit like House Flipper but way more stressful.

I have uninstalled it again.
(It wasn't bad, though, I might enjoy the full version once I didn't need tutorials for everything anymore.)

Should I try again?

After consolidating coins and giftcards I have managed to acquire another month of GamePass.

So I thought I'd have a little run around in new Oblivion to check it's working.
Well, I say "run" but I was apparently over-encumbered in my previous save so I offloaded some axes onto a dead bandit so that I could run around.
Hmm, will I fall asleep if I count these?
 

Anyway enough running around. The big question is... can I remember how to dodge and parry in Clair Obscur after all these months?

Edit: I can just about remember when to dodge.
But who the hell are these baddies? Never seen these before with the big handies and glowy dance combos.
And what are these new moves that they're doing?

But that was tough. What's that? 22 minutes? And that's not counting all the other fights I lost.
Sciel was completely useless as every single one of her dark magic hits got absorbed. Should have known really with the handie baddie being called Noire. But I didn't know what it was called, I've never seen it before. (Or maybe I've just forgotten that too. )
I had to quickly respec all the other characters to ditch their dark skills and I lost count of the number of times I revived Lune only for her to be immediately wiped out by the first big combo attack before she even got a chance to launch the Mayhem and Hell attacks I've been patiently building for aaaages. And then everyone is Silent so I can't use skills and half the battle ended up being fought with just Maelle when she was bound and couldn't even dodge.

But I managed to successfully Parry for the first time!
Only one particular attack admittedly but I worked out that specific timing and got to counter every time by the end.

And I won eventually, so why am I complaining.

That's as far as I got and I think that's still the tutorial...

Haven't got that far yet. The Weasly woman has just delivered me to the Ravenclaw rooms.
Need to have a look around there to see what I have to do next.

Edit: I was hoping to get a bit further right now but Windows has decided that everything must wait until the Spotify app has been updated from the ever-reliable Microsoft Store even though I have never used Spotify in my entire life. The little progress wheel has been spinning for an eternity now. Surely it must be done soon.
