I now have a functioning game, functioning CK, functioning Wrye Bash and seemingly functioning set of mods. I haven't moved my own mod files from the old stuff yet, though. (I reinstalled the mods I wanted in the newly reinstalled Skyrim so that old mesh and texture files from uninstalled mods wouldn't still be in the data folder...)

But it's hard to get much done when you either have a meowing cat behind you, a cat butt in your face or hear the scratching noises of a cat being up to no good....

Also, I still have to reinstall Blender and ArtRage, And I'm afraid that by the time everything is back in order something else will break and I have to do everything all over AGAIN. I'll never trust this computer, now.

I recommend you get something like EaseUS todo backup and use that to create regular backups of the drive. If anything happens you can reinstall everything and be back to where you were within an hour without having to reinstall everything.

Too bad you didn't recommend that a ways over two months ago...

I'm sure I have mentioned it before years ago. I have been using that and other similar programs for 20 something years on every computer I have had. Windows has one built in, but I have never used it so I can't really recommend whether it's any good or not. I should point out that it requires a usb drive or a CD/DVD writer to create a restore disc in order to be able to restore any backups you create.

A random cat came to see me the other day at the window. Not mine, obviously. In fact I've never seen this one before, unlike the other fifteen cats on the street which seem to do laps of the whole block while marking it as their territory.
I went out in the garden and even had a little play with it as it pushed around my legs.
They usually just run away or poo.
To be honest I think this one was probably there to poo as well and I may well have upset his "doings" by going out to watch him.

I shall keep a watchful eye out in case he returns.
