...plus a bit of squishy, poke and prod sculpting in Nomad...

Those feet are very poor indeed.

Things I hate number 1,385,271...

When you download a transparent billboard texture from The Internet, import it into Blender as a plane, spend...
*looks at clock*
...an hour and a half trying and failing to get the transparent bit to actually be transparent, suddenly get suspicious, load same image into painting program as a layer and finally realise that it's NOT a transparent image and the little checkerboard background is actually flat colour!

:rage:

I think I've discovered a new theory about what killed off the dinosaurs. :hmm:
Perhaps it wasn't a big meteorite, or the Deccan Traps or anything like that.

No, I'm beginning to believe that sometime 65 million years ago, somebody somewhere tried to do a UV unwrap and they all just disappeared as the laws of physics crashed and shut down.

Here's my lumpy creature an instant before he became extinct...

Thankfully I saved just moments before this.

Still don't like the hands and feetsies but I don't have enough polygons to add more detail and I wanted to unwrap the UVs before subdividing again. But...

Well, I can't recall exactly what a deinonychus (sp?) would look like but this thing would certainly deserve the name.

Extra points for recognising the species! :excited:

I did just manage to unwrap but it didn't go well. I even made a seam (just the one.) and that didn't help. I really don't know how professional people successfully do the UV thing so I guess I'm going back to blurry vertex painting again. :pout:

Might have something to do with knowing that deinonychus means something like scary arms. ;)

No feathers. :nope:

I did try by using the particle system to scatter lots of small feathery meshes across his body but it didn't look good. Looked more like a load of leaves so perhaps it was a texture/material problem. :dunno:
They actually looked better when I abandoned the "Object" instances and just left them as thick hairs so I might have another go at that at a later date.

Wish granted! :P

Be careful what you wish for, I guess.
