I think I might be close to finished with my yeti...

I like the clumpiness of that. When I tried to mess with those settings in Blender it didn't look very good at all. :nope:

And there may (or may not) be a carrot in the frames I'm still rendering in the background. :paranoid:

(I've managed to get through 170 whilst failing to do a painting. :))

After finally rendering that animation I thought I'd take the opportunity to download and install Blender 3.0.
Without realising I inadvertently installed it over my previous old copy of Blender 2.7.
But I don't use that anyway. I just kept it on my hard disk cos that version still had the game engine that's been removed from more recent versions. Not that I used the game engine either. It was just nostalgia that kept me hanging on to it.
Anyway, Blender 3.0 is now installed and... it's strangely slower than I expected.
It now takes several seconds to compile the shaders in the viewport and a quick Eevee render took six seconds longer than the same frame in 2.83. On the plus side Cycles seems a little quicker and it works with my Yeti hair now. :)
But after loading in my Orc model, the transparent eye layer didn't work with Eeevee. :(
Don't know why. I never do know such things. :dumb:

Will probably stick with the separately installed 2.83 version for the time being but at least the new one is there when I want to experiment. :aha:

I've been playing about with sculpting on my tablet recently with the Nomad app and it's surprisingly good....

It has a lot more functionality than I'd expect, even some things that Blender doesn't have.

Hmm, Eevee doesn't do indirect emissive lighting. :hmm:
And that baked light probe thingy looks a little complicated.

And Cycles is sooo slow, especially with volumetric stuff. :pout:

More videos! :pirate:

Been a while since I did any 3D. But I like how simple the stuff I make is. No rendering and stuff at all, really...

I certainly wouldn't say your stuff was "simple". All that poly modelling is so technical that I struggle to even know where to start. Pulling and squishing things in sculpt mode requires much less knowledge and skill. :)
