General Scribbles

Back from a few days away and although I should probably be sleeping I've completed my next daily for sktchy.

Got a big Micheal Carson vibe from the ref so I tried to incorporate some of the flat texture he uses in his figurative work and the figure ended up with some strange cartoony type feel that was purely accidental but I quite like.

Thanks Charlotte, yeah its a device I've used before and unashamedly stolen from the great Mr Carson - check him out if you dont know him, he's awesome imho.

Nice use of pattern too! The sharp designs add a nice contrast to the painterly edges elsewhere.


Meanwhile I had the brilliant idea of trying to do three faces (with some vague hands!) in one go!
What kind of an idiot thinks of doing that!



Bit of a mess in the end. Needless to say I will NOT be doing that again.

Personally I love it Val! Theres some excellent reflected light going on in there and the hands look good to me.

Here's my last few, which are a mixture of the horrible to the 'OK'. Still playing with the whole subject vs background thing with varying degrees of success.
