Sometimes I feel I’m taking a step backwards. Do you think it’s because I’m drawing more regularly?

You mean there are other ways to feel about your own work?

Looks fine, definitely not a backwards step.
Meanwhile I made a complete mess today and didn't bother saving. It really was THAT bad. :(

I’m sure it wasn’t Val. We’re all tough on ourselves and I often think a large part of it is as we plateau before our next rush of improvement.

I thought my last one lost its way a bit in terms of structure so I’ve simplified it down a little today.

That's a really good one, Atto.
That intense red, and the way it gradually sinks into the black shadows, is wonderful to look at.

And here's another of those startled, squeezed cats...

aw that one could almost be mine! And the kid's face is really well done! (though her hand seems to have er... disappeared behind her hair... :p)

Any an all misspellings are henceforth blamed on the cats.

Yeah, it wasn't my choice this time. I love it when they remove the hands for me. :)
The kid's face was a tough angle though. It took a couple of repaints and the nose is still not quite right.

I’d take the issues you have with hands if my (human and non human) portraits looked that good!

Nice colours and hatching in that last one. It makes me think of a poster for a 50's sci-fi movie or maybe one of those pulp book covers. Although I can't decide if he would be the hero or the villain. :)

And speaking of movies, those imaginative "cuts" in the other pic now remind me of the Terminator walking through the metal bars. Great stuff!

I wasted quite a lot of time today messing around with ArtRage glitches so I was only left with a bit of time to do something/anything. And this was it...

Yes, those are indeed some very short legs.

It obviously takes more time than I had to get proportions right.
