No, like I said, I started a brand new game last time. No save games, no mods. This time I started a new game in creative so I did have one save game. I'll try reinstalling some day, I guess...

In Epic launcher settings there's a checkbox. If it's on it may be that the epic server has cloud saves for your game that used mods etc. and that could be the problem... maybe
Also, if you go to the games thumbnail in the library, click on the 3 dotty menu and choose manage, there's an option specifically for the game (you can also verify the files there as well).
I did go to the three dots and there was no way to change cloud saves settings there, but I did turn off cloud saves in general now. Not sure what happens when there already are old ones, though. It was a right pain getting rid of the Skyrim ones...
