I struggled to get through Alien Covenant on TV last night.
I think I had to rewind at least five times cos I kept falling asleep through the ending and I'm still not sure I saw all of it.
Thankfully I do remember most of it from the first time I watched it. :P

I finally finished Collateral. Wasn't bad just a bit dull.... but... is that Il Comissario Montalbano!? On Netflix?:woohoo: (only one episode it seems, or a film, rather... and from 2019 so fairly new and I probably haven't seen it.... probably)

Was that the show with Carey Mulligan?
I remember watching that on TV and being rather disappointed at how tediously "preachy" it was.

Who's Carey Mulligan? :dumb:

Edit after googling: Why yes, it was!

I didn't find it "preachy" exactly, but I did find the dialogue unlikely. Contrived? And the end was unsatidfying. Like things either ended badly or kind of not at all (there were several "mini stories" about all the characters involved - and honestly half of them could have just been left out).

I first saw her in my favorite DW episode, Blink, playing Sally Sparrow. I've seen her in a few things since then, with the most recent, a movie with Ralph Fiennes called 'The Dig'. I wasn't bad overall, but I just happened to come across it one day... on Netflix I think?

Yeah Netflix was promoting The Dig quite a bit a while back.

Yep, I think it's only been a month or a bit more when I watched it. ... Think it was one of those that pop up after you first log in, and I watched the preview then just played it. - A lot of times, I just go in and throw something on for ambient noise, but have actually found quite a few I ended up really enjoying. ... I probably watch more shows outside the US, then I do within. I find seeing the same faces 'actors' quite boring at times, and it's nice to see new folks on the screen, and I don't associate them with other roles.

:D that's kind of funny. One thing that amuses me with Netflix is that they keep using the same bunch of actors in all their productions. Well, many of them anyway.

It's why I try to look 'outside the box' when searching for something to watch. ... I'm not big on sub-titles, especially when I'm doing other stuff and can't sit there to read everything to know what's going on. But have ended up watching a lot of series that are from other countries. Most of the actors are not familiar to me, so it's like watching a full cast of new folks for me. But again, this is mostly shows in other countries outside the US. The other stuff is too much like the same people over and over, and playing very similar roles or characters too.
