I didn't particularly like Looper much either. Been a while since I saw it, but I remember being distracted by his entire face all the way through. Like a lot of time travel stuff much of it didn't make sense if you put any thought into what was happening. The guy gradually being dismembered was a "cool" effect, but it's also complete nonsense.

I started watching The Alienist Angel of Darkness.

Episodes 3 and 4 were achieved last night. Things happened, stuff was said.

Looks like Swedish telly has a selection of old timey horror flicks... Not sure I'd enjoy them as I tend to cringe at both acting and effects in older movies, these days.

I have seen "Little shop of horrors" and I'm pretty sure I've read the story from "A bucket of blood"...

But then there's:
Night of the Living Dead
House on Haunted Hill
Carnival of Souls
The Most Dangerous Game
Spider Baby or, The Maddest Story Ever Told

Are any of these "must sees"? Or must-have-seens? or similar....

Night of the Living Dead is a proper classic that is pretty much the origin of the Zombie movie as people know it now (Just as long as it isn't the terrible re-issue version that was hacked together by the original producer)

I would probably watch the others as well myself because I like that kind of thing. House on Haunted Hill is a slightly cheesy William Castle gimmick film (I believe it's the one where they rigged ghosts up in cinemas to fly at the audience). Carnival of Souls is a weird cult film (as in cult following, not about cults). Don't recall having seen Most Dangerous Game. Not seen Spider Baby (at least the name doesn't ring a bell).

Well, I'm trying to suffer through Night of the Living dead now. Besides the awful music (is it discordant? I want to call it discordant but I don't know anything about music so I don't really know if it is... It sounds like I would expect discordant to sound... ) and a perfectly annoying and useless heroine, the Swedish subtitles are different from what's actually being said, which confuses me. (Instead of "there are reports of the murderers eating the flesh of their victims, I repeat, there are reports..." the Swedish subtitles say something like "there are reports of murderers eating the flesh of their victims, except in Maryland where there are reports of murderers eating the flesh of their victims"

"Except in Maryland where they are eating cookies"
