When I saw the big ad for it the other night I thought it was L.A. Revolution.
I didn't go in to watch it so I wasn't disappointed.

Hmm I wonder if it's a new trend to invent stories and include real historical figures. I mean, I'm sure it's been done before as well but after watching La Révolution right after The Alienist I can't help but wonder (Joseph Guillotin and Teddy Roosevelt respectively; I've no idea how true to history the Alienist's Teddy is, but JG in La Révolution hardly seems to be the same guy. They share a name and a profession but nothing more, it seems.)

Roosevelt was a New York police commissioner in the late 1800s and tried to clean up and organise the police force according to Wikipedia. So there is some element of fact in the story.

Speaking of based on fact, I saw The Conjuring over the weekend. Is a fictional film that claims to be based on a true story still based on a true story when that story it's based on is completely made up nonsense? I guess the fact that it's a story is true :hmm:

... [BANG!]

It is also very scary. I know this because the have a helpful loud noise every time you are supposed to feel scared. I also watched the first episode of The Haunting of Hill House which started off OK, but then begins to use the helpful loud noise to tell me when to be scared.

And Netflix is very helpful with that. I'm not sure what CC is an abbreviation of, but when something already is in English, those are the only available English subtitles. "Creepy music", "Ominous music", "Scary music" (and I usually don't even hear the music, so I guess I need that CC thing... But it gets kind of silly to read that something sounds scary...)

Closed Captions. I actually had that on when I started the episode but switched it off as the subtitles were actually completely wrong and seemed to be from an entirely different episode.

Closed captions doesn't sound like it's something for hearing impaired... Which I assume it is, based on them mentioning every little sound in the background...
