I fast travelled to a location nearer where I needed to go and... the horse came there with me. Then it walked off again!
Edit: oh, and I forgot that some of the loot from the latest dwarven ruins is now marked as "stolen" after I let Lydia carry it and took it back from her. I did get SkyUI. Not sure if that's the culprit though or some of the dialogue mods I got yesterday. Can't see why dialogue would affect stolen status or horses though.

You are pretty much experiencing the thing I had with horses. I don't think it's anything to do with your mods, it's something in the game.Update:

My mods give me the opportunity to claim them after riding them for a while.
And Banj has done orders with Bots?
I only did the tutorial one and decided I'd rather walk there myself. And that seems a low number of roads.
Gonna have to check my stats next time.

I also found, finally, where Wrye Bash saves my screenshots (because the printscreen button does indeed save a screenie) - it's right into the game folder, no subfolder or anything. Seems utterly studpd if you ask me. Which you didn't.
I would play through GOG but when I did, SKSE claimed to not be running, so I opened it.... through skse, and how that knows where wrye saves screenies I have no clue.
