I've been playing for too long/late again.... I/My Stormcloak picked up a follower she met on the road. Ironically he's an altmer. He doesn't seem to care for the Thalmor, although I suspect he doesn't care much for the stormcloaks either. Anyway he's kind of funny (he must be from the Interesting NPC's pack). He says a lot of silly things and should probably be really annoying but I find myself giggling instead.
"Wouldn't it be great if the Giant Sleeping Inn was really in the shape of a giant and the front door could be the mouth and the back door.... OK maybe that wasn't a very good idea"
"Some say my name is feminine but I'm not a girl, I just fight like one."
"Oooh a note from a secret friend? I wonder who it is? I bet it's that fifth greybeard everyone's talking about!"
(I'm not sure how he knew about the note - he wasn't with me when I found it
And googling him (Rumarin) it turns out he's the "Suspicious elf" I was supposed to keep an eye out for and report to the guards
Though as Ella is a dedicated Stormcloak, she'll probably have to ditch him somewhere eventually. He is an elf, after all.

The carriage?
Oh. Just like Winterhold, there isn't a carriage. But there's a guy with a rowboat!
He'll take me somewhere.
Well, he will after I overhear this other conversation.
Wait a minute. I think I've got some of the things this guy is talking about. May as well have a proper chat with him.
(a few moments later)
Hmm, he was dropping a few Oblivion spoilers, wasn't he?
But now I know why that dead Orc body didn't disappear all those years ago when I first started playing.
I suspected he was important when I spent those hours struggling to sit his corpse in that chair.

You were in Dawnstar too, today!? What a shame we didn't meet
All of the bounties are terribly meagre especially compared to what ordinary commoners are prepared to pay you for your help retrieving or just plain finding things.
Not sure who you talked to about Oblivion and orcs, though. I must have managed to avoid those bits.... I killed a dragon and went up in that tower above Dawnstar. Other than that I was really just passing through on my way to Ustengrav.
Well, night time for me.

It's like we're playing Elder Scrolls Online without having to actually install it.
And I still haven't.
I did think about it yesterday but chickened out.
Not sure who you talked to about Oblivion...
Silus, he was called. The guy with the museum. He went on a bit of a rant about Mythic Dawn and how they killed Patrick Stewart.
And I'm not sure what happened with the rowboat. It obviously doesn't seat more than three people cos Arissa didn't immediately turn up at the destination and a few moments later I saw her running towards me down the coast.

Edit: Come to think of it, didn't he send the dragonborn a note at some point? So I can totally ignore him until then, at least... I think only one of my characters have ever talked to him - they thought him loony and never went along with his request, whatever it was.

Yes, yes he was. I wonder what ever happened to old Silus... Certainly nothing I was involved in at all. Ahem!Silus, he was called.

Apparently I had a bounty of 2000 gold on my head
Now should I just pay it, or load an earlier save or try to flee... dang it, I was sure I saw a "last witness killed, bounty lifted". But maybe the bounty hunter showing up a few minutes later should have been a clue.
Bounties don't get lifted with time, do they? I mean, what's the best way to handle them? I did try to go to jail once but then they just tried to catch me again the minute I escaped....
Edit: I suspect the 2000 are not from murdering that uppity noble and his imperial body guard, but because I stole some potions and coins from fort neugrad while Ralof was with me.
