It was one of those bright blue poisonous things. The rainforest is a dangerous place for the unprepared (I was prepared with anti venom bandages) 

I'm pretty sure those frogs are only dangerous if you have open wounds... and that anti-venom bandages probably wouldn't help

Not only can Dogmeat carry lots of heavy things (...somehow... ) he can also do tricks. And he found me this nice pilot helmet that goes really well with my blue suit...

 

I've also made myself an upgraded, scoped sniper rifle and ... I'm not very good with it.
Admittedly I had forgotten to put my glasses on when trying to shoot that scavenger from afar but even so, I think I'll stick to my pistol/makeshift axe combo for now.
I really should get rid of those Rads too. They're actually much worse now than when I took this screenshot so it would be nice to find a doctor soon so that I don't have to start using my own stash of meds.

Speaking of tired I could do with a sleep myself but I'm not sure I can do it next to this creepy monkey.

 

But it's not as if that sleep would help with my health at the moment. Look at all those Rads at the bottom (red bit stealing my maximum health. )
I know there's been a nuclear apocalypse but does everything have to be so radioactive?
Gonna have to use some of my precious RadAway soon.

Anyway just before this I was exploring and stumbled across a place with a radioactive mutated bear thing. Many deaths made me realise that it's waaay above my current level. The little skull by the health bar should have been a clue.
By sneaking around and using my sniper rifle (with my glasses on!) I managed to get its health down a bit and ... was then slaughtered by a second radioactive mutated bear that I hadn't even noticed. There's two of them!
Time to stop trying and walk around instead.
Hilariously Dogmeat then accidentally killed them both by investigating (without my consent! )  some nearby derailed train cars (more radiation) and setting off some booby trap bombs that sent loads of radioactive barrels burning in the direction of the over-levelled bears.

And he is!
Should probably give him a doggie stimpak for his health but I'm keeping them for myself.

And I'll add that I'm enjoying this so far. It really captures that sense of free-roaming exploration like Skyrim.

I decided to move my workbench. Every time I went to use it I was greeted with a message due to the proximity with the fan behind it and I was starting to take it personally

As soon as I hear that clicking I'm putting this on. And it's not as heavy as I thought it would be.

Anyway before all this I found myself having to mix paint.

 

Thankfully my real-life artistic skills helped me out and I got the correct shade.
