GOG is giving away Alone in the Dark (1,2 and 3) today until I've no idea when because I didn't actually read the numbers, apparently I also don't really know anything about the games, but I claimed them anyway.

Edit: Offer ends in 2 days, 17 hours and somewhat less than 15 minutes...  

I played the first one way back when it first came out. It pretty much invented the survival horror game genre and inspired stuff like Resident Evil. I also have one of the later games on console, but never played the second or third games. I am certain they are terribly awkward and clunky 

A must have then. Who doesn't love awkward and clunky.

I went to claim those freebies and while I was there I saw the coming soon page for Skyblivion!

I clicked that to have a look and discovered that in order to play that (if and when it arrives ) you need the Deluxe version of Oblivion and I only have the Game Of The Year version.
I'm not buying another version just for that.

Oh. I don't know which version I have. I looked at the sales price for Oblivion (not very high) but decided to wait. Days later I realised I already own Oblivion. But now I dunno which version...

Anyway Skyblivion is on my wishlist. It's possible I'd prefer that over the remastered version (seems the modders added more content and I'm guessing argonians and khajit look like in Skyrim - the Oblivion ones look soooo weird to me). But I guess it also hinges on total costs...

It depends how much DLC is included. Deluxe version has all 9 but the GOTY that I have only has 2. I did also see that the Deluxe version was only £4 yesterday on GOG whereas it's usually about £15 but like I said I don't want to pay for another version just to get another free version when the mod comes out.

And I was looking forward to that.
