Gaming

While I do tend to avoid RG, I sometimes just play Hide & Sneak, and kill them all one at a time. Easier without followers, probably.

Ooooh and I finally got Skyrim to work. Or rather, Wrye Bash to find it. Now to uncheck almost all mods and start over. Again. Figured I should do that to see what mods I really want and whether I can make them myself.

Oh wow, uhm it seems to have reset itself to zero mods anyway. So I guess I need to find the unofficial patch and whatever other mods are "must haves", and I can just ignore all the rest for now. Though I am guessing some meshes and texture replacers will be there either way. I think.

My there are a lot of mods I don't even know what they are. People are sometimes very bad at naming things something reasonable... And I am definitely going to want to add several back in, but for now, I tried to only do fixes and UI stuff... Guess I won't know if it works until I play. And since I didn't include the alternate starts mod I guess I need to go through the entire cart-ride and dragon attack, again.

That worked so so.
I could play but got the usual error message about the skse plugin file which apparently maybe wasn't needed. But opening containers took forever and eventually the game crashed, though I can still hear some of the sound effects.

And man everyone's ugly. Why do all the eye options look like they're upside down or something?

Edit: apparently I still hear the game because it's still running and what happened was the computer just suddenly switched windows...  

I like the idea that when you shut it down Skyrim just keeps running somewhere, somehow, and maybe you can just hear it at the edge of your perception.

I think I have managed to get skse and creation kit to work... But though most mods are listed as uninstalled, the ones with mesh/texture replacers are definitely showing through at least here and there. Not sure if I should just delete everything and reinstall when I want it back or how to handle it, right now.

So I'm just playing, at the moment. Just been through Bleak Falls Barrow. Again. Off to kill that dragon, soon. Again. And then I guess I should save up to buy Breezehome. Again. I actually haven't bought it for several characters lately, so maybe it's time. Maybe I'll see if I can "fix it up" like I want it, in the CK. But I did try to find the conversation with Provenicii or whatsit about buying the upgrades/furnishings and I haven't managed so far. Should be easy enough, wouldn't you think?

I'm an idiot and also totally confused. Since I tried the renaming a folder before installing so I could just copy/paste stuff, with Skyrim/GoG I now have two Skyrim folders and they are not identical for some reason. So one has a working CK and SKSE and the other is connected to Wrye Bash.... But the saves are the same either way?

And I can't remember how to redirect Wrye Bash to the most up to date folder, which would be the one with CK and SKSE working, of course.

Grrr... I knew I shouldn't have taken Lydia with me. Most of the things she carried are now marked as stolen and the fix of dumping them into a container owned by me and taking them out again didn't work, so I now have to dump them all on the floor and use console to set ownership on them one by one, before I can sell them.

Lydia's a thief?
