Anyway we left him to go wherever he's going and carried on our own way where I soon got attacked by some small beasties and Serana... ...used chain lightning.
Please don't use chain lightning. It hits the baddies and then forks and hits Arissa and then... Yes, that's why she's attacking you now. *reloads last quicksave* 
So.. was that a staff or just magic. I think it was magic, which means I can't take that power away from her, but maybe if I give her one of Brelyna's fireball staffs then she'll use that instead in a safer way.

Yikes, a couple of bandits! I'd better kill them myself before she gets out the chain lightning again.

Killed one. (Serana intervened but thankfully only used the Ice Spike.) And I killed the other by myself.
Wait a minute. I thought I'd killed it but it's getting up again.
Did I miss with my axe in a Morrowind fashion? Is this a new kind of bandit?

 

Nope, Serana's just brought him back to life. You could have warned me before you did it!
So now my follower has a follower and he frequently says, "Uuuuuurgh."
I'm sure he'll die again in a few minutes.

Process for reinstalling Epic games...

I was going to write out the process but they have a page here:  www.epicgames.com/help/en-US/c-Category_...-computer-a000084687

I usually rename my original folders temporarily (add an underscore to the beginning or end of the name), start the install, cancel it, then copy the epic folder that the install created into my original folder. Delete the new game folder, then rename my original back again. Then start the install again and it should detect everything.

I feel like this still needs more brain power than I currently have, but I will try it.

I might also have to try to change my language to English because I'm getting tired of the red squiggly lines every time I write something. Or maybe I'll just turn off spell check.

It basically just needs to recreate specific files at the start of an install so it knows where things are. Once it has those you can just copy all the files into the folder and it will recognise them once you start the installer again.

I hate Robber's Gorge!
Too many baddies in too small a space on that walkway over the road and once you get to the level where enemies can do the "archery sidestep" then it often ends in my death.
So after a reload I tried to sneak round the side and swim across the river. A surprisingly deep river with an equally surprisingly strong current. So strong that Serana has been swept away.
At least another of her never ending supply of dead bandits is still here.

She just never stops resurrecting things I've just killed. But never mind, this time we swim past Robber's Gorge at a better point and we're all off towards Dragon Bridge. Serana is certainly making me walk a long way to wherever it is she wants to go.
