Probably another bad choice of entertainment but now I'm watching Day Shift, where a pool guy is really a vampire hunter. I'm only a few minutes in and while the "vampires are invisible in mirrors" is kind of silly, it's still funny to see an empty pyjamas fighting someone... [

I finished The Acolyte last night and... once I got past that clumsy start I quite enjoyed it.
Those middle episodes when The Stranger arrives were quite exciting and on more than one occasion I consciously shifted my seating position to "edge of the seat".
Of course there were flaws and issues but it certainly doesn't deserve the rabid hate that the Internet has launched at it and it's a bit disappointing that it's already been cancelled as there were a couple of interesting things that were setting up future stories.

I guess my kind of entertainment is bad entertainment. I'm rather enjoying Day Shift even if it's illogical as usual, and also kind of silly in how everyone's "so tough". It has Peter Stormare and Snoop Dog which is a plus but it's like they're trying too hard to make Snoop's character some sort of super hero, turning the main character into a silly hero worshipper whenever he's around.

Anyway, back to enjoying the last stretch. Hopefully. It's kind of very very gory without being very gory? Does that even make sense? It IS gory but I guess the amount of violence and kills could actually have meant more gore... The amount of vampires, though. I'm not sure there are any normal people left in LA. Or wherever they are. I think they're in LA. Or was that just the soundtrack?

Edit: Yup, LA... (And I can't help but wonder if it was Snoop who insisted on his appearances (especially his last) or his fans (in which case I assume the directors are his fans). Definitely a bit too much hero worship there. 

I'm currently watching Threads which was shown on TV the other day for the first time in what seems like decades. I only vaguely remember it from the first time around and probably only remember that from people talking about it afterwards, but it's still surprisingly disturbing today and it's amazing how they managed to achieve all that with the practical limitations of the time and the budget that they had.

...and tonight I am watching The Creator.

Speaking of Predator (previously I mean), I saw Prey yesterday and it was pretty good for the most part, and definitely one of the better Predator films.
