so welcome back thomgirl :)

and ... wow. what an expressive sketch it is! I really like the power of it - wanna see more! :woohoo:

If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense.Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't.

Your pics have a cool energy in them Thomgirl. This one is really naughty looking but I like it! :cheer:

Naughty as in she'll kick your butt, sure ;-) There will be armor, but I generally always work from nude to armor. Helps me make sure stuff is placed where it should be :)

I think she's going to definitely kick ass, hopefully not mine tho ! That's the proper was to do things, that way the armor will look more realistic, the anatomy looks solid from what I can see, I like how you incorporated someshoulder muscles too. B)

Thank you, thank you! Yeah... I like the shoulder muscles a lot... so I'm going to have to create armor that doesn't detract too much from that :)

Let the AO begin... I don't do it exactly the same way as per most tutorials, but it works for me I think.
I'm also aware there are some adjustments I still need to make to the underlying sketch as well, the horns particularly.

Good start Thomgirl, I came across this tutorial on ambient occlusion, it sort of reminded me of your pic, you might find an interesting effect with the lighting.

I am actually not a citizen with cgcookie, so I can't see it :( But I do have a few tutorials that I read up on for it and several wip works of other artists that I look at and I just go at it my own way. It's a bit different than the standard AO way, but works for me thus far :)

I used to use it with 3DS Max, it's a built in feature, and it takes forever to render, so when I saw how you can do it in 2D, was pretty excited :woohoo:

Sometimes I look at other artists stuff similar to what i'm drawing, encourages me to keep going and help me up the detail, it's great inspiration.

I had never heard of that before. Thanks for the link Mic.

It's an expedient may of going about painting in shadows and form, although I think it's a little over-complicated! I guess I am used to the more traditional method of painting in shadows as I go.

It looks good as a stand alone image too, with just the shadows forming the image. Interesting stuff!

Everything's on the right!!!

It's like driving abroad!
