It's looking great already, Thomgirl. :) Look forward to what ya do with it.

BTW, hope you're feeling better now too. - My wife's been having some medical issues this past week, so we've spent quite a bit of time running back and forth to the doctors. But might get some art time in this weekend myself. :)

I get sketchy around pencils! ...=D

I also like this style and the running Jack-alope sketch if treating the same way as this one will be wonderful as well...great movement in both.

Thanks again guys for the kind words :) I will actually go with the sitting version of the Jackalope. I did a ton of action poses for it and I originally thought that's what I wanted but I felt like it kept loosing the rabbit look. But it will still be done in the same style. I have been studying Frazetta's drawings a lot and I feel like this is the closest I've come to emulating that a bit. And something about line work just... is fun for me when working with really vibrant colors. I wanted it to be nice and clear and something hopefully a child will enjoy looking at as well as the parents ;-)

[Edit] Hey Dave! Sorry, I missed your post after I had posted this! I am feeling good just very very pregnant now. I have 3 weeks or so till I'm due and I am certainly feeling it! But I am far from complaining, I've had a very easy pregnancy so if the last month is where I'm finally having to have the husband do all the heavy lifting around here, I figure I'm doing okay!

This is really nice. It's a great lively drawing and the form is building up very well.

So... close to done on this... not sure I really like the scales though. I used a brush set for them, but I'm not totally sold on it. I sorta wanted something stylized, but not sure this is working how I'd like. I might redo them with a different brush set up that gives me more personal control in pressure and size.

Love the colors on this one! The mane, tail and leg-fur looks fantastic. But you might be right about the scales. But I bet if they were sized & angled to follow the muscle flow, I think they would work a lot better. It also kind-of flattens down the areas where they are placed right now too.

I quite like the scales. Dave is right about following the contours and form, but I still think you have a good idea going on here.

In my experience a textured overlay looks better than a textured brush.

Everything's on the right!!!
