Looking good Dave, I think the cats work well.

Well, decided to spend about 20 minutes or so, just roughing in a BG for this. I actually want to try something different with this one. Building the image as a whole, instead of just concentrating on the characters, and then trying to throw in a BG.

The background's looking promising Dave but I thinkk there are a couple of issues in the lower part of the image - I took the lierty of doing a paint over (they're fun!)

For one thing, with the cats placed around her like they are she almost has to be sitting down (on something they can also climb) but right now it's unclear whether she's standing or sitting. I tried to sketch in a sitting position but it might be easier if you add more room for knees and lower legs... Also, the right big cat has the same shoulder issue as your former left small cat. So I tried to draw a cat's shoulder as well, you'll notice that you will see part of the chest in front of the leg...
Hope it's of some help :)

Any an all misspellings are henceforth blamed on the cats.

Yes ma'am, that's quite helpful indeed, thanks. :) - (Also noticed I left a layer off - now updated - nothing really, just some vegetation roughed in to help set the bottom in, and possibly hide some of it? :D ) But yep, been kind of avoiding that lower part of the image. not knowing where I wanted to go with it. So other then bumping them around, trying to keep a balance, I haven't done much with either of them, especially their bodies. Like the guy on the left, I thought of having him more to her side then the front. But I'm liking your idea of her sitting down even better, and may even have an idea that might work well with that? ... Will try to work on it between remodeling breaks today, since I was already asked if I could come in and work all day Sunday for storms. So my weekend pretty much got halved.

Thanks again! :)

Ok, so just took a few moments to re-work some of the lower elements. (mostly the lower, right kit) Wasn't too happy with his original position, but wanted it to be different from the others. So using Charlotte's suggestion of her sitting, I'm trying to work the bottom in on that premise. Still needs work, but wanted to at least lay it out somewhat. ... Oh, and also played around with the idea of giving some face markings to the lady as well. Not sure how I feel about it yet though. :)

Guess it would be nice if I actually inserted the image!

Looks good Dave. I might be tempted to reduce the black marks coming from her eyes a bit. I guess they are the markings of a cheetah, which makes sense, but they seem to age her quite a lot. I think if they were just a little bit smaller then that might be more sympathetic.

You have taken on a tricky one here Dave. Many moving parts!

BTW, is this cheetara? I might have missed that in an earlier post!

Everything's on the right!!!

Yeah, think you're right about the face markings, Dom. Just threw them in to see how it might work, because her face was starting to look a little bare. But it does indeed appear to age her. Thanks. Will look more into it before deciding. (attached a side-by-side that shows it quite well.) The other thing that is sorta starting to bug me, is if her hair should be changed? At first I was going to just do a portrait, but now that I've added the whole scene, I'm not sure her present hair is working?

Cheetara? Wasn't she one of the Thundercats? If so, no, at least not intentionally. :) The pic just kind of formed up in the scribblings. But I remember my son liking to watch them when he was growing up. And he did say this was reminding him of the Thundercats when he first saw this one.

Thanks again.

Your son likes watching them!?

I used to watch them when I was a kid!... and I think I am older than you!!!! Ha!!

Yeah, Cheetara is a cool character, so I thought this was a kind of fan art piece. Looks good either way mate, so keep at it! I must say that a much prefer her face without the lines, but then I think that if they were just reduced a little, that might be enough. Let's see a little colour or tone on there first and that might clear it up. If you plan on filling the lines with black or some other dark colour, then the problem of ageing her face with line will have been mitigated.

Give it a go and see what you come up with Dave!

PS. Her expression is awesome! I love her eyes and smile. Brilliant wok!

Thanks, and agree, don't think I will really be able to tell until I start putting some color to it. If I do, I also don't think they would be dark, probably more lighter in color. Thanks for the kind words too. :)

Not sure the Thundercats show was around when I was growing up? I was born in '65' :D Maybe in the 80's? Oh, I'm sure I watched my share as well, but it's been quite a while, so couldn't recall their names. But I believe they were on air when my son was little? He was born in 84, but would have to check to be sure though.
