Love the face and beard. The hair isn't working quite as well.... guess it has to do with the long hairs vs short strokes... but the face - and the eyes in particular - is excellent!

Yeah, I wasn't sure about it either but all the little strokes took far too long and I wasted a lot of time getting the nose and beard wrong.
I initially wanted to keep the background plain but that wasn't working either so I had to fill that with fiddly strokes too and then I just got fed up and stopped. :lol:

Hindsight says that I should probably have used one of those impressionist custom brushes to save time instead of using the oil brush for every tiny stroke! Seemed like such a good idea at the time. :)

...or you should have used up your last drop of patience on the hair and not bothered with fiddly strokes in the background :dry: The nose looks great, though ;)
