I’ve just received this from Karen. She actually printed it! (I’m always sceptical whether people actually do when I email them a file)
It may seem silly but this has made my week!

Yes, it is strangely satisfying when you see someone having a picture printed. :)

Another Saturday afternoon something.

Glad I’m not the only one to feel like that Val (thought I was being a bit weird)

I love those kind of realistic exaggerations you’re doing. This ones working extremely well.

That’s one serious nose ring. The eyes are great!

Here’s my second piece for the NHS portrait thingy on the IG thingy.

Nicely done!
Obviously the face and expression are the most important things in a portrait (and you've nailed them here) but the extra little details of the fabric creases, the crisp bit of text and the shading of the arm really push this one to another level.

Thank you Val. That one fell together really quickly, it was a pleasure to paint.

This one however hurt both my brain and my eyes.

Yes, the light looks very natural as it falls across the skin. I can never get it quite as subtle as that, perhaps because of that pain you speak of. :)

I was gonna leave that comment until I posted another pic in the thread but they've all been going wrong at the moment so we'll just forget about that idea.
