They never get easier though.
It's so difficult trying to stop them looking flat. :dunno:

:hmm: VERY exaggerated areal perspective?

Yeah, and maybe some extreme depth of field too so that you only have to paint the tip of the nose and then all the rest is a blurry mess.

Other things failed today so this quick thing was done in the remaining time...

Too. Many. Green. Spots.

looking cool, though. In spite of time shortages and green spot excesses. :)

Buuurd sketch.

Didn't really get the geometry of the head right and having the other wing cropped out of the photo ref made it even more awkward. But it was done. :stare:

I think the head looks great and I love how you only had colour in the eye :)

Thanks.
It's almost there, but there's just something a little off about the bit above the beak/nostril and my knowledge of bird anatomy doesn't extend beyond the one picture I was looking at.
But they seemed to like it so none of that matters now. :)

That eye is wonderful!
The rest is great too though.

I’m jumping on another IG bandwagon but I also wanted to do something about current events that are ripping the world apart.
So here’s a few of George Floyd (and yeah I cheated by slightly altering one portrait).

No smudge tool was harmed in the making of this image.

Great likeness and really good work on the shading, the transitions between the facial planes is very well done.

I think the black and white version in the dollar bill could use a bit of texture overlay to push the grainy/engraving effect and sit it deeper into the paper. But even without that I still think the third one is my favourite.
