Last night I watched Gemini Man. Given the criticism it received I had expected something of epic terribleness, but instead it was just a bit rubbish, and CG Smitth wasn't really as bad as everyone made it out to be.

Watching the first episode of Midnight Mass. Judging by the number of people who seem to be aged by make-up I'm guessing there will be some magical rejuvenation happening... It feels fairly decent, though, enough to keep my interest in spite of all the "religious" music etc - I guess you just have to expect those things when it's something supernatural and church-y...

OK that was the worst bit of theatrical blood I have ever seen.

Midnight Mass: Guy is lying in pool of blood. Comes to. Is frightened and crawls backwards through the blood. No smears. I mean, it might be half dried or even fully dried but then it'd crack and flake instead, wouldn't it? And it was all shiny 2 seconds ago. But no smears. At all. PFFFFFT

You seem to know a lot about how blood smears across the floor...   *backs slowly out of thread*

Well, I ended up watching all seven episodes of Midnight Mass in just 2 days. I thought it was pretty good, in spite of all the religious stuff. Or maybe because of how they handled it. Some things were rather predictable (OK lots of things) but I liked how the actors were allowed to talk much more than in the stuff I usually watch.... then again sometimes they did go on forever. :P And I like how they could show the community and mood (for lack of a better word) of the church and services while also showing how blind faith is not a good thing... Especially the actors portraying the priest and his whatever she may have been (she seemed to basically run the church for him?) delivered long bible passages quite fervently. The priest sometimes faltered and sounded kind of fallible, which just added realism. I slightly different story, not entirely cliché, and done in a very good way for the most part (not so good when it came to some make-up and effects...)

I hope there are no spoilers in that...
