Is there an advantage to playing on/through/with* steam?

*and what is it one does, exactly?

EDIT: wow... there's a fidget spinner game coming. I can't even see the point of the actual fidget spinner. I wonder what the game does? Blow up in your face?

There is no advantage whatsoever with that game as you can get it outside of steam.

Yes, Steam is an online store thing kind of like PSN for Playstation. Some games actually require you to have a steam account in order to play them, others are available elsewhere but may be more convenient to deal with or cheaper on Steam.

Anyone see Ender's Game? It seems to be the only thing worth watching on TV tomorrow... Is it any good?

Watch it and try to guess what Ben Kingsley's accent is supposed to be. :)

It's entertaining without being that great. Worth watching 'on TV' but don't pay money for it.

Definitely don't pay money for it! I was very disappointed in it to be honest but it's worth a look - unless of course you can get Bladerunner instead ;)

Edit: As far as Steam goes I played a very enjoyable few hundred hours of H1Z1 on there. It 's a very good zombie survival game or 'king of the hill' type multiplayer. It's still in development so a little frustrating when they do a server wipe but fun if your PC is powerful enough to run it.
No smudge tool was harmed in the making of this image.
