Still, I did manage to download the right one and not any of the "fake" ones, even if it took some maneuvering.
I guess I'll install it and try it tomorrow. Too annoyed with it, right now.
I'll just finish my episode of midsomer murders, instead...

By the way, paint.net worked like a charm. Then I managed to find what I'd done wrong in the nif-file and got it all working. Then I used that as a basis for making a similar object. It's not working. Like, at all.

I'd like us to get down there together in a sneaky fashion rather than have you run down the stairs afterwards or swoop in via jetpack in a way that's not sneaky at all.
It's almost like she already knows what's down there.
And of course, it's death that's down there. But only my own.
I am considering abandoning this mission for a bit because there are so many baddies down there. So many. And some of those mining turrets are just devastating.
I'll try again next time but I will definitely be checking out my earlier saves for a possible retreat.

Also the items look a wee bit too bright and also a bit weirdly lit when there is no light... I think I might need to fiddle with that too. Maybe. or maybe just darker the texture some... Meanwhile I've added a shelf full of potions (one shelf, can't add too much loot now can we - besides, it'd only encourage the player to steal stuff...)
I do need to make a pile02 of these thigs as well. For variety.

Hide in the lift. Pick off the many nearby robots one by one. Let Andreja do the stupid, dangerous stuff. Peek out and take out the mining lasers using a gun with a decent scope and then finally, after a shootout and a chat, spare the terminally ill woman.... before giving her a headshot while she slept on the bed.
So, yes, I just needed to be patient.
But not quite as patient as I needed to be when trying to get out of the damn mine.
I climbed all the way down the spiralling descent and tried to retrace my steps to the point where I entered but that stairway was kinda broken, you could jump down but can't jump up, and the lift I came down in only has a button that sends it down here and not one that sends it back up. There's another broken switch but surely that won't do anything except electrocute you.

Won't be doing that again.
Well I can't go up that way so I follow the quest marker and that leads to a massive door that doesn't open. Maybe the switch is behind me or off to the side in the way that some of them are in this game.
Erm... nope. But there is one switch over there and... It's a broken switch. Surely that won't do anything except...

Definitely won't be doing that again.
I then notice a long red cable that comes out of the top of the door-that-won't-open and it leads over my head to...
(I follow the cable)
...another door that doesn't open.
Time passes.
Many things are tried.
Many things don't work.
Gonna have to google.
Riiight.
So apparently... instead of descending that central, spiralling ramp/stair thing after the fight I was supposed to find an elevator in the back room and that would take me down to the other side of one of those doors-that-won't-open and from that side I can open it and, because of the connecting cable, this opens the other door-that-won't open.
Yay, I can leave!
Let's get aboard my ship and jump to the next star system!
Oh, wait a minute- What's going on? I'm what now? I'm being what? I have what? Contraband?
Oh, that contraband. I forgot about that.
Why, oh why, did I pick up those harvested organs?

That thing that didn't work? ...it almost worked... And it still works. So I guess I must have done something else to fix it. No idea what, though
The Skyrim equivalent of switching it off and on again.

But how did you leave when you couldn't get through the doors or up again? Earlier save?
I've been cluttering up one of the rooms in my dungeon. Then I realised that at some point I seem to have lowered the floor.... so I had to raise the floor and then every single item I had put into that room. Then I realised the walls also needed raising a bit. And then that one of them stuck out a bit into the next hallway
It's so easy to just accidentally click and edit something without even noticing. I know I've "edited" lots of outside cells just because I've tried to look at things. I'm going to do a lot of deleting in SSEedit at some point.

I could get back up the central stairway to the room where the fight ended. I just couldn't use the other stairs or lift at the perimeter that would have taken me out of the mine. But without the googling I would never have noticed the "elevator" in that room nor would I have imagined that taking that elevator would automatically open a door elsewhere. There wasn't a lot of logic in this particular piece of level design.
However I did have to reload an autosave save to get rid of my contraband.
I jumped off to a different non-scanning system and sold them off to the dodgy Trade Authority there for just one tenth of the actual value.
Wasn't worth the greedy excitement that made me pick them up in the first place.

Is this the one on Mars?I could get back up the central stairway to the room where the fight ended.
