I don't think it's an over heating issue since it's not that it shuts down, but the screen goes black and the cursor grows large... something with graphics settings maybe? Like resolution

Anyway, once I manage to get "back" from the black screen with the large cursor the web browser tends to start acting up by going black and/or not being able to load pages suddenly.

If I knew for sure something was wrong and it's not just my own dumb fault, I'd send the computer back. But I'd like to be sure another one would actually function better...

Google shows me lots of references to a black screen with a (sometimes bigger) cursor but they all seem to relate to a problem that happens on startup not when you're already using it.

EDIT: Is it your laptop display or are you using a second monitor?

EDIT: And after spending time trying to search for this problem I've discovered that pressing WINDOWS+CTRL+SHIFT+B reboots the graphics driver.
It probably has nothing to do with this issue but I like it when I learn these things.

I have completed A Plague Tale: Requiem.
No spoilers, but...

And it was very, very good. Better than the first one (and I really like the first one too) with a bit more variety to the gameplay and some wonderful set pieces to go with the excellent story.

I guess I'll keep considering it. I also just realised that these black screens have all occurred since I started using multiple masters in the CK. (I wanted to be able to include some foodstuffs from the hearthfire DLC.) I don't know if that can be the reason, but since I started doing that at the same time as these issues began, I guess it's a possibility.
