and why can you only find out an ID if you know the item name?

I have to assume the Epic server is getting hammered with people trying to get Death Stranding as I can't get very far with claiming it 

It's always the same with the big games. GTA completely crashed their site and Tomb Raider trilogy took a while to process.
Patience is the key.

Are the carpets just textures rather than items?
Have you tried clicking on them in console mode to see what it says?

It's Christmas Day, people shouldn't be online trying to claim free games 

They have their own reference IDs and I have seen mention of a mod that can crumple them, so they're not just textures. But I can't find anything on their base item IDs and I can't find them myself either because they're obviously not named anything containing rug, carpet, floor, covering, pelt, tapestry or whatever else I might have tried. I haven't tried "decor" though But you'd think someone somewhere in the world would have figured them out by now... It shouldn't have to be me

And out of those few people who got through, some people are getting the Director's Cut but others are just getting the base game.

If I knew how to use the Creation Kit I'd load it up and have a look.

On the few moments I got to the store page there was the game (which was claiming to be the Director's Cut), but also a DLC listed claiming to be a Director's Cut Upgrade (which wasn't free).   Not really bothered either way, I'd just like it to work.
