Any an all misspellings are henceforth blamed on the cats.
I've been playing a bit of Guild Wars lately - not doing much, just running around exploring and picking up some freebies from the gem store, as they celebrate their 10th anniversary. But I noticed I had deleted one of my three norns for misspelling her name (according to my notes on the subject...), so I recreated her and chose a new appearance that wasn't available last time (face and hair) and chose a different name too. So I've been playing her today and... she got a mount. I've not been able to unlock the mount on any of my old characters but the new one just gets it when she hits level 10???
Well, I guess I shouldn't complain. Mounts are account wide after all, so now all of them have access to it.

Or play GW2 for free and... oh wait, the FtP version doesn't really have mounts. They come with one of the expansions. Sorry...

Oh right, and you DO play it. Occasionally.
I guess you have to get online during one of the events where the mounts are at least available to try
Not that I'm sure when those events are, it's just something I saw mentioned when googling mounts (trying to figure why my level 80 didn't have one when my level 10 unlocked it simply by becoming level 10)

Haven't played it for aaaaages but I would like to get back to it sometime. It's one of those games I can only play on late night GeForceNow sessions cos I don't have space for it and these days I'm always a bit too tired for those late nights. At the moment the only games I'm playing that way are Fallen Order and (also occasionally) Control.
Meanwhile I just beat "Todd" at golf in GTA, I was rubbish but he was far worse, and then I stole a taxi to do some jobs to pay for another outfit. And the guy tried to run away without paying.
I attempted to chase after him but Michael isn't the fittest of the characters and after lagging behind I lost patience and pulled out the sniper rifle.
Pay your damn taxi fare!
Surprisingly the police didn't take my side in this employment dispute and a big chase ensued. I cheekily stole one of their own cars to escape again but it was missing one wheel after I'd rammed it so that didn't end well.
When I got out to try and run again another policeman got out of the passenger side. I didn't realise I had brought him along with me.
I thought about asking him for a taxi fare but he shot me pretty quickly.

I'm actually at a point in Fallen Order where I have to switch planets and go back to Kashyyyk, which is a decent moment to have a little break so tonight I AM going back to Guild Wars!
And look!
I get a mount too!
It's almost like being back in Ark.
It's just a temporary bonus. I think it said I'm only allowed it for a few hours (not sure how many) but it will do.
The biggest challenge was trying to work out the controls again after so long. How do I get the mouse to move the camera without clicking?
Oh yeah, that's "Action Camera" isn't it. And what key is that again?
NUMPAD * apparently
It was 10 minutes before I could move correctly.
But then I was into a little group quest escorting this merchant transporting goods on a beastie...
I did die during one of these battles, not even sure how that happened, maybe the naughty Krait must have released some poison or something after death and I joined them in that death like a foolish noob.
Thankfully that chap on the raptor up there revived me so a Big Thank You to that person and sorry that I don't remember your name.
I'm glad no-one else died cos I can't remember how to revive people. They would have been very angry with me.
And after that little quest I got my rewards and... was over-encumbered.
I then spent the rest of the session trying desperately to work out how exactly you become un-over-encumbered again.

I didn't even know you could move with your mouse without clicking... That is, I always just hold down the mouse button(s?) and "push" in the direction I want to go...
For reviving people: F (same as Talk, Loot etc)
For getting rid of stuff in your backpack: there's one button (the first of the three to the top right if I remember correctly) that sends all crafting materials to storage. And any salesperson can buy junk items ("trophies"). And if you can't salvage gear, you can sell at least some of it through the trading post function (always available for selling, but you need to get to a tradesman to pick money or items up).
