I think I've now done the last of the Karl Marx missions in AC Syndicate.
Hopefully.
And I will not miss our favourite revolutionary.
Had to escort him to his big speech and he raced off into the distance like The Flash!
He's obviously fitter than he looks. Until the big fight started, of course. Then he walked straight towards the biggest group of baddies and just stood there like a punch bag/target practice.

It's too warm for gaming.

Thought I'd play a bit of LA Noire seeing as that doesn't need too much stressful concentration and action yet I've just worked up a sweat from trying to get the Rockstar Launcher to run.
And does it HAVE to reinstall DirectX for the billionth time??

I tried a new mobile game the other day, called grand survivor. Nothing grand about it, really, it's kind of cartoony 3d. But anyway I enjoyed it enough to decide to get it on bluestacks/pc instead (my phone got rather warm). I installed it and tried to run it. Black screen. Tried reinstalling, changing settings, updating drivers. Got as far as a black screen with music. Decided to update Bluestacks, as I googled it and got the info that 5.1 was the latest stable version. But my bluestacks (4.something) claimed to be up to date. So I installed it manually and ended up with two instances of bluestacks, a load of new stupid shortcuts on my nice and usually rather empty desktop and... a black screen. 

After googling and trying every cure in the book and failing I gave up and reinstalled it on my phone. And yesterday I pretty much spent all day playing. My livingroom was too warm (around 28 degrees) and at lleast the phone is.... mobile. So I hid in the shadowy side of the apartment. By now I think the "novelty" of the game is wearing off, though. It's turning into "buy these packs that are way better than anything you can get in the game or grind for ages to get something rather crappy to fight those bosses with". 

Anyway it's a raft crafting zombie survival thing.  With sharks.

And all that talk of drivers reminds me... After I'd updated mine to get a better frame rate in AC Origins I started to experience a few awkward stutters in Mad Max. After a bit of investigation I realised that NVidia's "Game Ready" driver had automatically changed the game settings, even though I specifically told it not to do that, and it had maxed out the resolution which crippled the performance.
So I changed it back!

On the plus side the newer driver has fixed the depth of field in the Ansel thing which a previous update had broken.

So I walk up to this blacksmith guy working behind his table and ask, "can you repair these weapons for me?"
And he does. At a decent price.
And while I'm here, "Care for a game of Gwent?"
Just like the entire population he has the Mysterious Elf card.
I decide to try a Monsters vs Monsters game, just for a change and a bit of experience with other decks... and lose.
So I then switch to my superior Northern Realms deck and trounce him easily and he gives me...
...not the Mysterious Elf card. Just the uninspiring Impenetrable Fog!

Disappointed once more, I leave the Gwent minigame interface and now find that we've bizarrely switched positions around the table and I can no longer get out...
 

I'm being imprisoned by a sore loser!

EDIT: And now I'm sweating too. It's too warm for gaming.

I forgot to smuggle lockpicks into the party!
Idiot!
Now I'll never know what wonderful loot was in that room.
I'll bet it was one of "those" stones.

EDIT: There WAS one, but it thankfully wasn't behind that door.
