Hmm, the navmesh in Blackreach doesn't seem that great.
Both Brelyna and Arissa got stuck on a bit of path outside the nearest building and watched me get killed by Falmer from a safe uninvolved distance. Then later Arissa got a bit stuck on a walkway and may have fallen off to... somewhere else and I had to summon her again from the menu a few metres down the road.
And there are too many Falmer.
Got my best sneaky boots on so they can't hear me. Shush now!

I remember orb thing. Can't remember dragon in Blackreach. Or maybe... Not sure.

and.... can you summon followers from a menu? (I know you have a menu when they're close but... that requires them to already be there...)

Only with Arissa cos she's a mod. You can go into the mod settings and it tells you where she's supposed to be and offers a "recovery" option if she goes very wrong. You can also summon her by using the Horn Of Oakshore... but she has to be working properly for that to function.
