Well it certainly looks Orcish :)

Any an all misspellings are henceforth blamed on the cats.

My no-legged Orc has acquired some hands.

I poly-modelled them as a different low-resolution object and that was fairly easy.
Then I merged them with the body, remeshed it all and started sculpting the details. And then the problems started. So hard trying to keep control of the fingers. Work things a little too much and they suddenly turn into twisted flatworms. Then you have to inflate them and they quickly look like balloons then you smooth them down again and they look TOO smooth then you inadvertantly flatten them again and... :rage:

Hands!!! :eyeroll:

Sounds pretty much like when you paint them...

For that last render I turned off the symmetry and had a go with the pose brush... and it wasn't entirely successful. It's kind of clever how it works but it does seem to destroy the geometry very easily. The arm on the right side seems to have lost all its shape and definition after moving it just a little bit.
I guess that this means that if I want to pose it later then I'll have to try and rig it properly at some point. That'll be another day of work. :eyeroll:

Just spent an hour or two painting some Orc vertex colours and did a proper UV image texture for the eye. :excited:
And the result... wasn't that great. :(
Getting a realistic eye must involve many more steps.
I saved my file anyway and then quit and an odd error message flashed up.
I quickly went back in and reloaded the file and sure enough the eye texture was not there any more. It seems you have to manually save the image rather than just expecting it to be automatically packed with the blend file.

Oh, well. It's not as if I lost anything that looked good.

After a quick game of Witcher 3 I then went back and started playing with armatures and....

My Orc can pose! :woohoo:

OK, he can't move his fingers yet, I couldn't quite work out how to parent them to the hand while keeping the armature symmetry but I'm sure I'll work that out later. :)

Reminds me of my favorite Doctor Who episode... Blink - Only moves when you're not looking at it.

And funny enough, you're avatar actually plays right into that too! :)

I get sketchy around pencils! ...=D
