Great to see you return and even greater to see you return with a picture. :)
I can see you've been improving while you were away. Your use of values seems more subtle and controlled here and the end result is very realistic.

Although the black and white pictures are very dramatic, I quite like that duotone look to the Thranduil pic.
You should experiment more with colour like that, using warm and cool tones to make the image pop. It works well and makes it much more than just a study from reference :)

Thanks, I definitely should work more in color. Currently practising how to ”translate” toned paper drawing into painting (inspired by Donato Giancolas work and process :))

I second Valence on the color experimentation. That painted study of Thranduil (Lee Pace) came out really nicely I think!
