In that case you'll be overjoyed to learn that in the scenes with Force Heal it's explained and then demonstrated to not work in that way. And I think it'd be a spoiler to go further. :)
But let's be honest, no sane person is gonna be bringing the teddy bears back from the dead anyway.

Is it the same sort of explanation that also invented some magical significance for lightsabers even though they have always just been a techy weapon and not a Harry Potter magic wand with some great connection to their owner?

th9svreminds me of when they explained how the amount of midichlorians in the blood determined how strong the Force was.... except it's the opposite - explaining something non-tech with "science". (and all weirdness in this post IS due to the cat casually passing by - across my keyboard)

It's a misquote. The actual quote is "My God, it's full of stars". Ask HAL about it, he might know

Responding to a post a few days ago because it was the first in my thread when I opened it. :P

Charlotte, is your Nightwatch book the one that the movie Nochnoy Dozor (Nightwatch) is based off of? Even had a sequel Dnevnoy Dozor (Daywatch).

Great movies. Unfortunately books 3-5 were never made into movies and I've never read ANY of the books since they were in Russian when I first saw the movies. :P

I don't think so... I think the author is named Robin something? *will have to check bookshelf* OK that was one of the books that went to the basement in the move :p *will have to google*

Ah, yes... Robin Wayne Bailey. Who also wrote a Fafrhd & the Grey Mouser story after the original author (Fritz Lieber I think?) was gone. Which is how I came to read those stories. And ended up not liking them :P
