I am done with lesson 2, and lesson 3 will handle exteriors. But I skipped ahead and looked at the rest of the tutorial classes and I'd been hoping for more on adding NPC's and markers etc. Unfortunately these lessons are really old and the NPC ones were started in 2011 but never finished or posted... Guess I'll need to look elsewhere for more tutorials. (This was TES Alliance, which only seem to have a few posts from last year and other than that mostly from 2011-2019 from what I can tell...)

Why is there no farmhouse exterior that actually matches the farmhouse interior we just built in the tutorial??? Which is made up of basic pieces which means there should be a matching exterior, or at the very least there should be exterior pieces that can be stitched together to make a matching exterior. (The interior has two floors, and one door on the ground/stone floor - the exteriors either have one floor total or doors on the wooden floor or doors on both floors. I have a dinner table where the dang door is!
And the tutorial wants us to use one where the door is on the upper/wooden floor. *grrr*
(The tutorial also wants me to add this little in next to half moon mill where the only potential customers are a couple of vamps. I'm trying to add it to Karthwasten instead...

that "fake" loading bit going through the narrow gap was a very naughty and evil trick.
It made me jump far too much. You probably heard me shout out at that point.

When the game came out the biggest complaint I heard was the loading screens and I already agree with that. Everything seems to be fast travel with either a momentary blank screen or one of those concept art/gameplay tip screens. When you take off from a planet in your ship you fast travel into orbit, then after setting a course you fast travel to the destination and then when you want to land you fast travel down to the planet. It never really feels like you're flying anywhere in your ship as you just seen to be teleporting between discrete points. It feels more like Mass Effect than the free roaming/exploring of Elder Scrolls but Mass Effect did manage to hide most of the loading behind animated (albeit repetetive) sequences.
It's also a bit overwhelming when you get to the big city. I arrived at New Atlantis the other night and it is impressive and again it reminded me of the Citadel in Mass Effect. And once again you have to use fast travel on the train system. Almost everyone you bump into there has a side quest but I've been trying to keep to the main story for now and got sent back to Mars with another companion. I have found the merchants to loot my almost-overencumbered inventory, bought some new outfits and have seen the ship customisation thingy, which looks cool, but I obviously don't have enough cash for that yet.
Unlike Mass Effect with its tactical squad stuff, I do like the more orthodox combat that I've been involved in here, especially now that I've turned into a sneaky psychopath with an axe.
It's still enjoyable between all the loading screens but I do feel that the game could have been so much better if they'd tried to make it more immersive.
