He's the one that wants Fragment: On Artaeum.
Oddly enough, as well as picking it up in Oblivion (and probably in Morrowind too) I also had it earlier in Skyrim as part of a different book-related quest where I had to give it up, but the place I originally picked it up from "changed" as part of that quest and it hasn't respawned there so I'll have to keep searching elsewhere.

And yes, I know those fan/wiki sites will tell me exactly where every possible copy is but I want to find it by myself. :stare:

So... since I killed the dark brotherhood (well, most of them) I never got the quest to kill alain or whatsit, who stole Aegisbane, but I still managed to find Aegisbane when accidentally coming across the guy and killing him while trying to find something else. Apparently you can't just talk to the family who owned aegisbane, so I tried to reverse pickpocket it to them. Unfortunatley my pick-pocketing skill isn't very high and it weighs 24 points, so the person noticed and started yelling and I got a bounty of 25 gold :stare:

So much for trying to be nice. At least I could tell the guard to back off as I'm a thane, but still. And I still have the darn, heavy, thing.

Remember, if it's a quest item it's not heavy at all. :confident:

Well I found two more doggies in Chorrol. :excited:
*pets doggies*
And I definitely didn't go in to Chorrol the last time I was here cos this is all new to me. Tried to sell all the weapons I'd looted on the journey but the smith here is far too good at haggling and I couldn't get anywhere near a good price. So I'll hang onto them for now. :stare:
Thankfully I could get the bookseller to cough up more gold than I expected and I also had a manic cooking/alchemy session to make a vast collection of Restore Fatigue potions that made me a 100 gold profit.
And I have joined the fighters guild. :pirate:
Unfortunately I can't do any jobs for them yet, I have to get my orders from some other people in other towns but that doesn't matter. No. Now that I've joined I can just take things from the guild without stealing and sell them. That's what matters.:)

It's all sell, sell, sell in Oblivion.

Oh... and some guy wants me to kill some things that are coming from "somewhere" and that sounds like another Oblivion Gate, doesn't it? I hope not. I'm not sure I have enough repair hammers.

EDIT:
And don't smile at me, nasty Alien. Go after the other people with the guns making all the noise. :pout:

This bit is sooo infuriating. :rage:

Those dentures :nope:

The aegisbane is only a quest weapon if you JOIN the dark brotherhood. I killed them, remember? So it was heavy to me. Then I stuck it in a closet until I could be bothered trying to return it, again. I had decided to just leave it somewhere in the owner's home, and even followed the guy home to make sure I'd get through the door. Well, at the door, he looks at me and says he wants to watch a fight or summat, and just turns and leaves again! :shakefist: I tried lock pickinig for a bit but it was a master lock and I was out of patience. So I gave up, went home, and hid it in my closet. :stare:

Kill the people that improve your carryweight.
Still haven't done any of those quest yet.

And in Death Stranding I still haven't got to the cold climb but...

Warning: Spoiler!

I finally reinstalled oblivion yesterday so been trying out that again today, but I still don't know how I like it It's uglier and I have a hard time with the controls being slightly different and the internet giving faulty info as usual.
"How do I sheath my weapon, again?"
"Press F"
Nope, that's the 1st/3rd person view. It should be R.
"So how do I sheath my weapon when I already have an arrow knocked?"
"Press R"
Nope, nothing happens. All I can do so far is shoot the arrow into the ground and hope I find it again.
I also initially failed to find the hair customization bits because they weren't where I expected them, and found a long discourse about how sad it is dark elves can't have black hair. Well, I think I chose a dark elf and there were two versions of black, once I found the right place. :dunno: She still looks kinda weird, though.

And now I played like a noob and went straight to Kvast where there's an oblivion gate and I haven't an effing clue what I'm supposed to do, and I can't find ANYTHING helpful. Like "repeatedly clicking the gate gives you three sigil stones" - well, apart from not knowing what to do with said stones, WHICH gate are you referring to? The actual oblivion gate (where the only option is to pass through, not bloody knock)? The gate in Kvast that we can't reach because the oblivion gate is in the way? Or the gate inside the oblivion gate, which only tells you it's "opened elsewhere", but there seems to be no elsewhere to be found? :dumb:

Meh, I should go to the grocery store instead. I'm out of chocolate, and grumpy. :stare:

It's raining :stare:
I'm just gonna stay here and pretend the world doesn't exist. I found a walk-though for the kvast oblivion gate but neither the words or the images seemed to match what I saw when I was there. Except for the survivor and his name. Anyway, I decided to reload an earlier save. Levelling up first might be a good idea... :dumb:

...And when I went back to Oblivion to play the earlier save, the game had shut down. So I restarted and decided to play as the character I created 4 months back when I first installed the game. Basically I had just needed a bit of a recap anyway. But it turns out that my previously saved game was saved way earlier than I remembered so I had to redo some things after all, like speak to joeffre. Then I decided to set off on foot to the nearby place Chorral instead of Kvast (which I remember doing last time as well but apparently that bit was lost...) and on the way there I found a mine. Except it took me a long time to actually find it - even teleporting to it on the map made me unable to see it until I circled a large stone.

Once inside the mine I was bit by a dog. I think it was a wolf but they look like dogs in Oblivion. Cute little huskies. Anyhow, apparently I contracted a disease, which I wouldn't have known if I hadn't caught the overhead text, because I don't know if there's like an interface "page" where you can see those things, or your skills/attributes and the like. A little later I had a new message flash overhead. "Ne topic; Prophet". Topic? What the heck is a "topic" in Oblivion?

To be honest I just find the game clunky, confusing and annoying. I think I'll go back to Skyrim.

Three sigil stones?
I didn't get three. :(

You go through the gate. Find the big tower, usually the one that seems to have "lights" inside and then ascend.
That first one in Kvatch was super hard for me. I usually start off killing the baddies but further on I just end up running past things in my way up.
Eventually you get to the top where the sigil stone is and picking it up collapses the gate and leaves you back in the normal world.
Also after you pick up the stone there's an awkward wait of a few seconds before the collapse. Several times I've been killed during that delay.
And the sigil stones are useful cos it's the only way you can enchant things in the early game. The normal way to enchant (with soul gems) can only be done after you've joined the necessary guild and learned some skills.

And I do think you need to mod Oblivion to get past the ugliness and potato faces. :)

I think I've accidentally deleted my post again. :dumb:
Feel free to bring it back.

And seeing as I can't edit it I'll add here that "New topic" means that you've overheard something interesting when the NPCs were talking to each other and it now becomes a dialogue option for you.
