I had an email about Songs of the Past but I haven't even played Witcher III yet

And I guess I need to look up that Tamriel thing... It doesn't actually say which game it's for, though And I'm pretty sure there's at least 5 to choose from so far.

Ah. Morrowind. Never could bring myself to buy that after looking through the screenshots....

You can download Tamriel Rebuilt from other places, like Nexusmods etc. It's just more effort to install.
And it's a Morrowind thing, Charlotte.

This is why I was hoping for the one clicky solution from GoG.

I actually like the environment of Morrowind more than Skyrim. It's a far more interesting place with some variety that makes you feel like you have travelled to different locations instead of everything being kind of samey all over. And it doesn't have the crappy Skyrim inventory.

It's mostly the graphics showing characters that scare me off.

I like Morrowind too but the dice-rolly aspect of the gameplay annoys me a bit, especially at the start when you literally can't hit anything despite seeing your sword connect with your enemy's face. Also the world feels less dynamic than Oblivion/Skyrim with too many NPCs that barely move as they wait for you to make progress. It was kinda sad to see Starfield revert back to that kind of world.
And one minor gripe of all games from that time is the way that characters would just say one generic line while you had to squint to read the 20 paragraphs of exposition that they didn't bother saying.

As for the Witcher 3 thing, I hope they don't force the update/remaster on us cos the last improvement wouldn't run on my PC. I had to reinstall some "legacy" version.

I think the Witcher III "thing" is a pay for DLC... At least the news letter said to wishlist it rather than just grab it.

Yeah, Songs Of The Past is a paid thing but the remaster is a free upgrade that includes the other two DLC even if you haven't bought them yet.
I'll have to make sure updates are turned off on my old version.
